Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. They assist by plumping and lifting cheeks, chins, jawlines, and temples; filling out thin lips, and plumping sagging hands, with results that can last from 4 months to more than a year.
Depending on the way the patient’s face ages and how long it takes for their body to absorb the filler will determine how often the patient needs to return for another treatment.

Derma filler is administered via a thin needle that injects the gel directly into the specific area that is being targeted. The injections take about 10 minutes, and you should have no downtime afterward. Depending on the product and the areas treated, you should be able to notice results immediately after receiving filler injections.
Any injection can hurt, but the needles used for filler injections are very thin, so pain is usually minimal. If necessary, the area can be numbed with a topical anesthetic cream or cold pack 10-20 minutes before the injections are given, so you may not feel much pain, if any.
Depending on the product and the areas treated, you should be able to notice results immediately after receiving filler injections. Some patients experience mild bruising and swelling, but these are temporary and should subside over the days following treatment. You will be able to go back to your normal activities right after treatment.
The patient can recommence normal activities straight after a dermal filler treatment, as long as they are aware of the area that were treated and do not rub. If a patient has an allergic reaction to a filler or decides to alter their appearance, the fillers can easily be dissolved.
